The Cure: Just Like Heaven
This song was our song. He was my first love and at fifteen I felt seen, adored and truly happy. For the first time since my parents split, I wasn’t walking around with a hole inside me. I finally felt complete again.
This track still lifts my heart every time I hear it. I'm transported back to a time when love felt like a superpower. I was fearless and together we felt unstoppable. Eventually, like most first loves, it came to an end and only the song remained. When he died, I hoped that wherever he was, it was just like heaven.
